The Prescott Fire Department is working to improve efficiency and reduce administrative workload through a series of technology and process upgrades.
Department officials say a major focus this year has been the overhaul of its staffing software system, known as U-K-G Telestaff. The update is designed to improve functionality, streamline scheduling operations, and make daily workflows more efficient for personnel.
In addition to the software improvements, fire department members have been participating in training aimed at identifying better ways to manage routine processes. That training has included strategies for increasing automation, improving workflows, and reducing time spent on administrative tasks.
Prescott fire leaders say the goal is to continually look for ways to work more effectively while making the best use of taxpayer resources. By eliminating inefficiencies and improving accountability, officials say firefighters and staff can spend more time focused on their core mission of serving the community.
The effort is part of the department’s broader commitment to modernization, continuous improvement, and providing responsive service both on and off the fire-ground.
